J'Aimee Mallon with Chief and the Mathew Slade Memorial Trophy
The Central Zone horse trials were held at Rollinson Reserve Kyneton on August 13. The Kyneton PC committee and members, together with zone rep David Stammers and course accreditor Wayne Cuthbert, did a great job of preparing the course and setting up the grounds. It was a worry that the weather would be against us in August, but after a foggy start, the winter sunshine broke through and it was perfect eventing weather. A bit cold out on the course for the fence stewards and officials but the horses relished it. As the sections finished, The sashes were presented and at the end of the day the winning club ws announced.
The grade 1 winner was J'Aimee Mallon (Macedon) riding Chief. She was presented with the Mathew Slade memorail trophy and keepsake by Warwick, Mathew's father and Brendan, his brother. (Brendan also scored -thanks Brendan.) The grade 2 winner was Harper Hamilton-Grutzner (Williamstown) riding Destination Unknown. Williamstown were thrilled to have Harper's winning points added to their score.
The winners and placegetters of grades 3,4, 5 and 6 are shown below. Details of results in the link at the bottom.
The club which won the Ferrari Innovations Shield was Williamstown.
There were no riders present at the end of the day to collect the shield but it has been sent to their next rally.
